Dr. Ara Khachaturian is a senior research fellow at the National Supercomputing Institute of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. He is also the chair and president of the National Biomedical Research Ethics Council, a nonprofit organization that advocates for human subject safety protection for transnational clinical trials related to neurodegenerative disease. In addition, he is the executive director of Run That Mind™ and the managing director for Evervital Communication.
Dr. Khachaturian earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in psychiatric epidemiology and biostatistics from The John Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD. He has more than 20 years of experience in the area of epidemiological and clinical research, including specialized experience in population and clinical biomedical research, public health policy, and public finance.
Dr. Khachaturian is an active member of the International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is also the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Care Weekly and the executive editor of another
peer-reviewed journal, in which he has also published numerous medical articles.
A recipient of research support and partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, and the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Khachaturian has provided strategic leadership through the Helen Bader Foundation’s Alzheimer’s disease initiatives and the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute. He was a featured research expert on University of California Television’s The Brain Channel discussing research ethics and advancing the future of Alzheimer’s disease research.
