Dr. Daniel J. Cannone is an adjunct clinical professor of geriatric medicine at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, OH. Dr. Cannone is also a consultant staff physician in geriatric medicine at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

Dr. Cannone has more than 40 years of experience in medical staff leadership positions with hospitals and postacute providers. He currently serves as president of a postacute care company based in northeast Ohio that provides services, including clinical/administrative medical director services; clinical care to nursing home, assisted living, and independent-living patients; medical education; and various healthcare consulting/advisory services. Dr. Cannone also is the chief clinical consultant for a senior housing and healthcare services company in Marion, OH.

On behalf of the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Cannone speaks about the introduction of new medications into long-term care. In addition, he serves on a drug review committee for geriatric guidelines and was an instructor for the American Medical Directors Association.

Dr. Cannone has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at numerous national professional association conferences. He is also a cofounder of the Ohio Medical Directors Association.
